15/07/02 Bruce Springsteen, protect an album by keeping it hidden until the release date.
The upcoming album by Bruce Springsteen, ('The Rising') in the studio with the E Street Band for the first time since 1984, it is located in the circuits p2p. And not for refined Algorithms of protection, nor for the fierce repression of those who could have put online. Simply the album has not been shipped reporters nor the shopkeepers, except for about twenty blameless and trusted 'friends' of both professions. None of them has put online its copy not to antagonize the entourage of rock star, also famous for claiming the maximum control over their work, including some bootlegger lawsuits filed in both the U.S. and abroad. Journalists and fans are just as frustrated, despite the promises of Columbia Records (owned by Sony) to offer previews of America Online. Promises kept, but that, as in the case of the second single 'Lonesome Day', have been reacquired by the user. For this piece, in fact, an enterprising fan has managed to snatch the file simply by guessing his name and then immediately putting it online.
