Oversaturation, saturation history.

Oversaturation

Powered by Luis Hernandez, Eric Werkhoven and Gabriel Acevedo, Oversaturation is a video game based on the standard in 3D openGL, derived in particular from the source code GL Tron, written by Andreas Umbach. The project, which is open source and released under the GNU, aims to explore the theme of the saturation of space, which is simply physical, mental or related to the media, through action, visual and acoustic experience on the part of public. Purpose of the game is to keep under control schemes that are generated and develop continuously, by wiping in half and destroying them, so as to avoid that arrivals to completion saturation of the space in which the game takes place. The metaphor that develops the sense of Oversaturation, expressed in terms of the ability to keep a personal space for free, undoubtedly is linked to the debate on the redundancy of information and the fact that the media contribute concurrently to the production of meaning and its suppression, reaching to generate a paradox that the more you process information more entropy increases, until '"implosion of meaning" (Baudrillard). In a succession of desire for knowledge and desire to simplify and reduce the elements assimilated, the saturation of information prevents us from truly know, filling a void that needed to the suspension of ideas, the cultivation of desire and consequently the development of creativity. As Nietzsche observed, "we moderns do not we manage anything by ourselves, only filling us and stipandoci of ages, customs, arts, philosophies, religions and foreign knowledge, we become something worthy of consideration, ie walking encyclopedias" and the "saturation of history" neutralizes the creation of new forms of life, so for a man, "it is absolutely impossible to live in general without forgetting. (…) there is a degree of insomnia, of rumination, of the historical sense, in which a living being receives damage and eventually perishes, then it is of a man, of a people or a civilization. "
