Access to the Internet in Bangladesh has so far suffered from expensive and unreliable telephone connections. Even at the Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh you are connected with a long-distance call to the capital Dhaka, which sometimes break off at an inconvenient time, making it very difficult to upgrade for students and teachers. To help improve the structure of minimally invasive development program of the United Nations ( United Nations Development Programme, UNDP ) are financed the installation of a wireless link from the capital in Mymensingh. In this way, low-cost connections could be provided to hospitals, schools and non-profit associations. The project is called (Sustainable Development Network Project, SDNP) and will cost a million and a half dollars also involving other educational institutions in the city of Rajshahi, Sylhet, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong. But the true benefits you will see in the second phase, with the extension of the project to rural areas and remote islands where there are no phone lines.
