Inaugurated on April 8, will run until June 6, the testing of spring_alpha, a project that involves the development of software in open source code during a series of workshops aiming at extending the practice of Free Software and Open Source outside the programming areas. 'S work spring_alpha the Scottish artist Simon Yuill, also inspired by the drawings of Chad McCail, aims to explore the role and influence of the Code within the control of the use of the software, hazarding a parallel relation to the weight of the legal system in Government of man and society. In practice it is a gaming environment / simulation, based precisely on drawings by Chad McCail, entitled "Spring" and "Evolution is Not Over Yet", which attempts to narrate a small urban community to realize its ideal society in the real world. The software developed in the workshop aims to test alternative social behaviors precisely, both narrative through the story in the game, both at the level of the code, that is, through the information of the operating system that supports the game itself.
