Former Planet, architectural views of the network.

The structural forms of the network have rarely been assessed by the culture of architecture and, in these few cases, from people who have done the experiment one of the basic points of their work. Former Planet , is one of these exceptions. It's a software for Windows that allows the user to define the size of a sphere and a web address as a starting point. An agent software will start from here to fill the sphere of all its nodes, stopping only blind alleys of the Internet, ie those pages that do not actually have more internal or external links. Developed by the Japanese doubleNegative, an open group of architects and artists multidisclipinari, in collaboration with the Viennese artist Dextro, Former Planet is another dimensional representation of a small part of the huge network, which is in the globe and its a curved surface representation consistent with the different levels at which a single nodal point is connected. One of the possible abstractions Invisible network of machines and addresses becomes global, happily married regularity of spherical and characteristics of the relationship between center and periphery (unconsciously perceived by the user) with the atomization of its real structure.
