I said that once some man had been calling me a lot wanting to give me one, but that I’d never called him back or something, and then the kid looked up and said, ‘Yeah, that was me. I’m Steve Jobs.’ And he looked so young, like a college guy. And he told me that he would still send me one now. And then he gave me a lesson on drawing with it. It only comes in black and white now, but they’ll make it soon in color…I felt so old and out of it with this young whiz guy right there who helped invent it.”

02/19/02 Conference Stelarc in webcasting.
Today (19/02) at 19:30 will be activated on the conference webcasting greek-Australian artist Stelarc at the Art School in Frankfurt-Offenbach. The theme is 'Zombies and Cyborgs: obsolete, involuntary and automated bodies', and consists of a multimedia presentation (VHS, slides, cd-rom), that describe his research on the relationship between body-only technology. The artist starts from the premise that the body is made up of an evolutionary architecture that is becoming increasingly conscious of the world around him. Edit this architecture also means changing consciousness. Then increasing the prosthetic tools you can cope with the danger of involuntary behaviors and fear of its automation, ie, respectively zombie and cyborg, in practice what we have always been and what we have already become.
