Mp3 2.0.

The Thomson and Coding Technologies together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (pictured) have announced a new version of the standard mp3, mp3PRO called, which should halve the sampling rate required to achieve the same quality. By March of this year the first software should be ready after the summer and already the first player. The codec will be, as usual, free for non-profit use and license for commercial ones. All this not only in response to the spread of Windows Media Audio, but also to Bluematter, new standard Universal Music, currently in research and development on the basis of mp3.
