Deaf 03, Date Knitting

Is it possible to reproduce the experience of an electronic art festival filmed in a documentary? Abiding by a sort of moral obligation, the Dutch Electronic Art Festival 2003 of 2003 dubbed 'Date Knitting', has produced a rich documentation on this dvd, Which Allows the user to experience most of the events and the Exhibited works, with the Additions of the point of view of the artists and guests. It follows a precise direction, somewhere between an 'official' look and an 'informal' one. As Alex Adriaansens, director of V2_, says, 'Expressed by media reality is a construction of reality itself'. Thus, this product is a 'constructed interpretation' of the festival itself, different from the ones of the visitors and their experiences. This attempt at decoding the construction mechanisms of information is, at the same time, one of the goals of the festival, Which, by accepting to be Represented by an arbitrary set of its events, it's all stakes and does celebrates itself, and Accepts the Challenge to Represent its richness in a sequential-televised mode.
