I said that once some man had been calling me a lot wanting to give me one, but that I’d never called him back or something, and then the kid looked up and said, ‘Yeah, that was me. I’m Steve Jobs.’ And he looked so young, like a college guy. And he told me that he would still send me one now. And then he gave me a lesson on drawing with it. It only comes in black and white now, but they’ll make it soon in color…I felt so old and out of it with this young whiz guy right there who helped invent it.”

The Comparisonics Audio Player , now in version 2.1? software that allows you to see an audio file through a colored representation of its waveform. The colors are associated with similar sounds according to a sound matching algorithm that allows the identification of similarities with a glance. In addition to research possible in the open file, the software allows you to search for similarity also through specialized search engine FindSounds . In this way sounds resembling stored on some remote server on the network are listed with their peers, according to connections that use small samples, instead of the letters of the alphabet as signs through which establish relationships. Available for free for PC and Mac formats the program supports aiff, au, mp3, wave, and voc.
