Exactitudes, the photographic matrix.

Presented at the last Dutch Electronic Art Festival , the project Exactitudes is constituted by a series of multiple portraits snapped by Dutch photographers Ari Versluis and Ellie Uyttenbroek. The duo have always been interested in the 'dress codes' developed in wide time span of microraccolte issues for place and time. These are shown in matrices of 12 photos, which despite paying an inevitable tribute to the famous advertising campaigns by Oliviero Toscani, highlight similarities and affinities of hundreds of people from all over the world in a single glance reminiscent of the individual pixels of a very large image. The clothes (with accessories and make-up) here are similar to the nuances of color, and the homogeneity of the subjects, despite everything, is to think of the skin of the software, and can change at will the interface. Among the codes and urban tribes explored in this excerpt of the work of two photographers in Rotterdam are, among others, the Chillers (1999) and Technohippies (2002).
