20/12/02 Interactive tests of binaural sounds.
The University of York has made an important and fun test on the perception of binaural sounds. L ' Psychoacoustic Online Experiment consists of a series of tests carried out progressively on the auditory perception of the loop caused by the difference in frequency between the two sounds, introduced by an effective preamble that explains in simple scientific basis. With a headset in less than ten minutes you can stop the test made in flash, extended more than anything else to assess the levels of perception in people, but that can also be nice, since there are no time limits for the analysis of sounds themselves, making it a stimulating background for neurons if not abused. The experiment will end in March 2003 but there are several free software that will allow you to generate a binaural sounds like Autozen for Linux and The Brianwave Generator for Windows.
