03:10:01 The RIAA sues Kazaa, Grokster and Music City.
The RIAA (Recording Industry American Association) and the MPAA (Movie Producers American Association) took lawsuits against Kazaa , Music City and Grokster , three of the most popular software for the equal exchange of files. The action seems to have a dual purpose: to clear the field from the competition more dangerous before the launch of the two platforms for the sale of major (Pressplay and MusicNet) and, in a delirium of omnipotence, to test the possibility of imposing American jurisdiction with regard also abroad. The three software, and related sites, in fact, are located in Europe. FastTrack, a software company that has licensed the different programs at American Music City and Grokster is based in Amsterdam, involving programmers in Denmark and Sweden, as well as managing directly Kazaa.
