Sometimes the online world reveals unsuspected parallel dimensions. This is an unknown restyle of Neural independently (and secretly as we never knew about it) made by NY-based Motion and Graphic Designer, Clarke Blackham. Very nicely made, perhaps only a bit glossier for the magazine’s line, it testifies once more how even your most familiar outcomes can have another life somewhere else.
CD – AGF Producktions
Those new urban sounds, which are more and more imbued with digital moods, come together perfectly in this new album by the electronica producer AGF and mc Quio. Their music encompasses many genres, from underground to mainstream, between hip hop, dub and garage. They’re multifaceted and complex metropolitan rhythms, and aren’t immunized from the strange creatures of pop, in their particularly contemporary mix of soul and club culture. The result is interesting and enjoyable, thanks also to the contributions of Nicolette (Massive Attack), of their other vocalist Lise and of the Brazilian rapper Edu K (very skilled and fun in an improvised Portuguese lesson he sings along to, creating lollypop cadences in a really oblique mix).
