Sometimes the online world reveals unsuspected parallel dimensions. This is an unknown restyle of Neural independently (and secretly as we never knew about it) made by NY-based Motion and Graphic Designer, Clarke Blackham. Very nicely made, perhaps only a bit glossier for the magazine’s line, it testifies once more how even your most familiar outcomes can have another life somewhere else.
CD – Very Friendly
Merzbow’s huge discography grows even more. He’s an exceptionally prolific experimenter, emotional in his approach to sound, compressed in a continuum of dissonant, metallic and chaotic frequencies. Its compositions are, in a way, full of passion in their excess of aggressiveness and decibels shot out among hisses, hums and buzzes, amplified beyond any reasonable abstraction, but with a certain coherency in the results, exactly because they’re devoid of any useless intellectualism. This was first released in an edition limited to just 500 copies in a suggestive box of fake marble with a ‘fossil ammonite’ shape carved into it containing the CD, in a handmade and accurately printed hemp bag (which we didn’t receive, unfortunately).
