Sometimes the online world reveals unsuspected parallel dimensions. This is an unknown restyle of Neural independently (and secretly as we never knew about it) made by NY-based Motion and Graphic Designer, Clarke Blackham. Very nicely made, perhaps only a bit glossier for the magazine’s line, it testifies once more how even your most familiar outcomes can have another life somewhere else.
CD – Daly City Records
Fascinations and obscure frequencies, hypnotic assonances, electronic audio-abuse difficult to place, not really experimental, not really minimal-dubby, not completely breakcore, but containing elements of all these three styles. However, the ethereal flavors expressed in the ten tracks of ‘s/t’ still have something in common with (extreme) dance and its attitudes, touching really borderline territories for sensitivity and taste. The attitude is direct, techno-oriented in its essence, but with harsh sounds, discontinuous rhythms and light melodic emergencies, immediately absorbed by the sound continuum. It’s a disquieting and interesting debut that we hope will have a follow-up.
