Sometimes the online world reveals unsuspected parallel dimensions. This is an unknown restyle of Neural independently (and secretly as we never knew about it) made by NY-based Motion and Graphic Designer, Clarke Blackham. Very nicely made, perhaps only a bit glossier for the magazine’s line, it testifies once more how even your most familiar outcomes can have another life somewhere else.
CD – Rephlex
These are ten tracks chosen by Richard D James among the 41 he published with the Analord moniker in 2005. Until now, these tracks were released in limited editions only, on vinyl, and are now released on CD for Rephlex. Caustic Window and Analogue Bubblebath are a return to his origins, the latter in particular having a very high quality of sounds, modulated directly from the irish master’s special collection of vintage synths, in a less experimental and more clubby editing. Nonetheless, the usual acid techno and his trademark breakcore creativity peep out in acrobatic connections and passages. Crystal-clear sequences giving us an Aphex Twin who’s never satisfied and whose intuitions are still brilliant. Don’t miss this.
