Crawling With Tarts

CD – Pogus
Michael Gendreau and Suzanne Dycus have been active since 1983, with the Crawling With Tarts moniker. Their work, of conceptual kind, is mostly based on the investigation of noise structures derived from mechanical objects, such as small devices, engines and turntables. This release contains two compositions, the first one made in 1996 and 1997, the second one made some months before. Both of them feature improvised elements which, together with solid frequencies and more imperceptible minimalist sounds, silences and reprises and, in ‘Grand Surface Noise Opera Nr. 7’, audio-narration components, converge towards a very refined and effective experimentalism.
