Framedrucker, slots for the deconstruction of a video.

Framedrucker , multimedia installation by Tina Tonagel, offers viewers the opportunity to choose and buy a single frame of an entire video sequence. The selected image is signed ("Single frame of the video 'lift' by Tina Tonagel"), high-resolution printed on paper and permanently removed from the video, so that the remaining sequence, after every interaction, has a structure more short. In fact, the hard disk of the computer apparatus, the initial version of the video is replaced by subsequently reorganized, after the elimination of the frame, the original tape can not be rebuilt, and the movie can no longer exist in its original form. The job of removing inhibits the future users the opportunity to enjoy the work of filmic vision before, and the printed image, thus constituting a unique, stands therefore as a symbol of outside intervention on the artistic product. The viewer is the master of capturing a moment with respect to the chronological order as if it were a photograph, and responsible for the deconstruction of the work. Two characteristics of the installation featured in the narrated time in Proust and Joyce. First, the effects of acceleration and the sudden breakage of the narrative flow of the video remind the interpolation of the times of Proust. Second, the fact that every single frame, taken as a whole the movie can not be perceived at a conscious level by the human eye, but instead can be extrapolated finally experienced, remembers the denial and the overcoming of the concept of space- time, as well as in the 'stream of consciousness' of Joyce. In the video, the time is shattered and it remains the same past and future of an isolated moment. In the frame removed past, present and future tend toward the presence of synchronic and diachronic image. In the final analysis, the single frame, inaudible in the movie, becomes important only in the 'overflow' in another medium, revealing their characteristic of the rhizome, as defined by Deleuze and Guattari: "The rhizome connects any point to another point any and each of its traits do not necessarily linked to traits of the same nature. (…) The rhizome not be brought back to neither the manifold.'s not made of units but of dimensions, or rather directions in motion, not has neither beginning nor end, but always a means to which it grows and overflows. "
