Audioscrobbler is a university project by Richard Jones who tries to analyze the music listened to suggest new artists and songs that may affect the user. Everything happens through a plugin for Winamp (Windows) a few days ago also brought about XMMS for Linux, and in the meantime a version of Mac software called iScrobbler was announced as imminent. The software records the data of the tracks listened to on a server and makes them available to the user who accesses it with a password. If you choose to make public data you can compare with other users, thus exposing them to spam, or Jones ensures that your data remains confidential and is not sold to anyone. This is a first implementation of non-commercial after the algorithms in the second half of the nineties were first implemented for free and then sold them to Amazon utlilizza to encourage the purchase of similar products.
