Sometimes the online world reveals unsuspected parallel dimensions. This is an unknown restyle of Neural independently (and secretly as we never knew about it) made by NY-based Motion and Graphic Designer, Clarke Blackham. Very nicely made, perhaps only a bit glossier for the magazine’s line, it testifies once more how even your most familiar outcomes can have another life somewhere else.
29.01.03 Spol/U S, Internet at the bus stop.
Spol/U S is an Internet video application broadcasted from a public place. It’s not merely a trivial spy-webcam, it’s a complex system installed at a bus stop. The flow of the passengers activates a camera which takes pictures of them passing by. The pictures are sent to a server which allows to interact with them using a chat system, where the user can choose the person at the bus stop to send a message to. The passengers can read the messages on a screen in front of the bus stop and can interact with the remote participants through an infrastructure installed there. The installation, among other things, will compete in the Interaction Award at the Transmediale festival, which opens in Berlin on February 1st.
