Sometimes the online world reveals unsuspected parallel dimensions. This is an unknown restyle of Neural independently (and secretly as we never knew about it) made by NY-based Motion and Graphic Designer, Clarke Blackham. Very nicely made, perhaps only a bit glossier for the magazine’s line, it testifies once more how even your most familiar outcomes can have another life somewhere else.
10/12/01 Net art as a text stream.
The Slow Arrow of Beauty is a work of net.art that is opposed to the experience of surfing the net page after page, presenting, on the contrary, a flow of information is constantly evolving. Consists of a Java applet, investigates the network to find related textual content and presents information in four 'waterfalls' contemporary. These evolve through two mechanisms, one established by the algorithms of the applet itself and the other from the inputs provided by the user. Another possible vision of the network as a steady stream, in a transformation similar to that elusive time, and contrary to the widespread perception of the web as a static database to query.
