Worms in the Sand, the distant graphics of worms.

Worms in Sand is an installation of Sinikka J. Olsen, a student at Kunsthø; gskolen in Oslo, which weaves natural elements, aesthetic and telematics. Fascinated by natural patterns, in fact, the artist has placed in a sand box of earthworms (Lumbricidae) and their motion 'draw' each time a different work. The assets invertebrates are reciprocated every three hours (when they reach the edge of the box), making them from different positions to generate as many compositions. Enable October 15 to 19, the work is transmitted in telepresence network, ie it is enjoyed by all, but more specifically to the art festival of new media Nova Media Cheb held in the town in the Czech Republic A project telepresence, therefore, that although passive displays for the user in the form of becoming an artifact, only partly involuntary, affecting a natural process governed by strict rules logistics. These are not subject to only make bounded the work, but also to make it transmittable in a limited screen size and perception in general, adapting the most organic (sand and worms) to its dissolution and inorganic multiplication in the data packets traveling on the network.
