The first operating system can seriously disrupt the twenty-year monopoly Microsoft has obtained another important recognition. Better than a premium category, or a certificate of technical excellence Revolution OS is the first film dedicated to the operating system of the penguin, landed in the U.S. theaters after three years of production. Directed by JTS Moore is structured as a documentary offers a montage of interviews and narrative sequences taken from conventions to which those involved in the open source revolution attended. Of all the interventions (Eric Raymond, Bruce Perens, Brian Behlendorf and many others) the protagonist is obviously Linus Torwalds, but the symbiosis with Richard Stallman, founder of the GNU project is widely acknowledged. As he always said the same Torwalds "Think of Stallman as the great philosopher and me as the engineer."
