I’m Steve Jobs.’ And he looked so young, like a college guy. And he told me that he would still send me one now. And then he gave me a lesson on drawing with it. It only comes in black and white now, but they’ll make it soon in color…I felt so old and out of it with this young whiz guy right there who helped invent it.”

The margin of uncertainty on the results of evolutionary science is precisely the ground on which bloom the wonders of the algorithm, bringing to light sometimes unpredictable results, achieved after several choices made independently by software. Applying this approach to the images created nevar (Neuro Evolutionary Art) , a project of Penousal Machado of Creative Systems Group of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (University of Coimbra), which has the final objective is to provoke the creation of an artificial artist, that is, a ' application that can generate full autonomy in their work. At the moment the software is able to produce an evolution of a group of images, based on user preferences, and applying those which are the laws of organic nature, ie the survival of the most suitable elements, the recombination of the genetic material and the random changes (mutations). In practice, after generating a certain amount of images, the software presents them to the user for evaluation, thus influencing the next stage of evolution.
