Momisdrunk: a cut-up manipulative imagination.

Momisdrunk is a book and a website created by Globalgroove, an association founded in the late nineties the brainchild of Michele and Fabio Andreoni Toffolo. The book consists of text and images derived from the manipulation of literary genres and techniques of different communication (advertising, science, fiction, poetry). It is a task of rewriting sentences in which authors and writers are mixed with other editorial sources to create a continual alienation of the codes. The images of the text, which looks like an art catalog, but the approach underground, reveal a simple technique, but thanks to a final interesting. Starting from collages made by hand with paper, scissors and glue, you switch to a second treatment in which the images are scanned and processed with Photoshop. What then appears to result solely of computer processing, is based largely on a manual activity and 'dirty', on the idea that even the literary code can be 'tinkered' as the digital one. Similarly, also in the project website fittings are the result of work that brings together different techniques of image processing and sound. The idea is to exploit the eye with programs that someone else has designed to give life to new combinations and re-combinations of images. Images already filtered by the culture industry, but always reusable starting from the idea that all production of culture is often recycled. Tatiana Bazzichelli
