Inaugurated tomorrow at the Public Netbase Media Space in Vienna, Austria Interface Explorer, shared boundaries a conference that will attempt to analyze the design of interfaces, such as crucial issue in the development of communication technologies. There will be Lev Manovich (author of 'The Language of New Media') that will make a speech entitled 'Cultural Interfaces and Data Aesthetics'. There are also other interventions Mieke Gerritzen, Graham Harwood, Matthew Fuller, Peter Purgathofer, Patricia Futterer, Jonah Brucker-Cohen, Joes Koppers and Pär Lannerö. Online are well presented three installations of web art. It is 'Text-FM', Matthew Fuller and Graham Harwood which consists of broadcasting of texts sent via SMS read via a speech synthesizer and then transmitted by the Austrian Radio Orange, 'Scratchrobot' Stijn Slabbinck that transforms texts and email scratch performed on two vinyls placed on turntable driven by a robotic arm and returned as sound files to who sent the email, and 'Lux' (pictured) by Markus Bader which consists of 5 mirrored globes (such as those used in discos) with audio speakers, which are taken from a webcam which broadcasts the show on the homepage of the project where there are five other globes, which become the interface-DJ of the site.
