17:09:02 Cite des Ondes, electronic art festival in Montreal.
The fifth edition of Cite des Ondes festival of video and electronic art was inaugurated on September 16 in Montreal (Canada). Curated by the Champ Libre offers an interesting challenge, which is to explore the interaction between the local urban transformations induced by the electronic media and the role of these in the architectural changes and their perception. Starting then from the south-central district of the city, soon redesigned by the big broadcasting companies and telecommunications that are moving their headquarters here, the event has selected artists grappling with the broadcasting and inferences urban areas. Four curators involved: Fransisco López, historical investigator Spanish microsounds, Wade Walker, a member of the British collective Battery Operated, Stephen Kovats, creator of the seminal ostranenie Media Arts Forum on Eastern Europe and Stéphanie Morissette, young Parisian art historian . Among the artists you indicate on the front of the Japanese sound Merzbow, the Absolute Noise Ensemble and various components of the label experimental Cocosol1dc1t1, while among the installations are the Yugoslavs Apsolutno with their 'Good evening' and the English 'Ambience Radio Collective' .
