Agora Phobia (digitalis), a free zone in isolation.

The project Agora Phobia , created in 2000 by artist Karen Lancel, takes the form of a Pillar Isolation / Free Zone placed in public spaces in different cities. A semi-transparent structure that can accommodate only one person at a time, allows you to get in touch via a computer with individuals who have suffered, or who suffer, isolation conditions. You can converse with someone who lives in prison or in a monastery with a 'digipersona', with an exile or a prisoner of war, with someone who suffers from agoraphobia. The Isolation Pillar, usually located in very crowded spaces such as squares, museums, theaters and city streets, allows you to enter for a moment into a soothing world, in which to reflect on the concept of isolation and insecurity directly with people who have tried, or they feel, certain sensations on their skin. The dialogues and monologues – are published anonymously in the project site, which is currently active at the space in front of the gallery Eyebeam (New York) and at Parasite Paradise, Leidsche Rijn Utrecht (NL).
