Hardcore, when art becomes real meat.

From 27 February to 18 May, in the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, kicks off " Hardcore, Towards a New Activism ", an event that involves numerous international artists. Hardcore, a name that wants to emphasize the rawness and the concrete adherence to real events staged, is an active response of the participating artists to reality filtered through pre-established format of the media, now frozen and repeated the themes of violence and terrorism. What the artists want to communicate is a version of "hardcore" of the company, handing us a vision of reality that wants to be "real meat" (meaning "Cronenbergiano" of the term) is not representation. The event is organized by the participation of twelve artists, of different ages and nationalities, who are producing, either alone or in a group, a new form of activism, to show and "penetrate" the inconsistencies and deviations of a sick system. For them, art is not a form of expression, but a fact of reality, a virus that affects the rigid forms produced by the media. The artists then become "hackers of the real" (real hackers) who are directly involved to give a critical view of political and social issues, manipulating and mixing the usual points of view … creating active interference as a pirate radio station. The program includes performances, debates and presentations of videos produced by the artists. Among the activists participants: AAA Corp. (France), Jota Castro (Peru), Shu Lea Cheang (USA), Minerva Cuevas (Mexico), Alain Declercq (France), Michel and Michel Dector Duputy (France), Ocean Earth (USA ), Etoy (Switzerland), Kendell Geers (South Africa), Guerrilla Girls on Tour (USA), Johan GRIMONPREZ (Belgium), Clarisse Hahn (France), Henrik Plenge Jakobsen (Denmark), Gianni Motti (Italy), Anri Sala ( Albania), Santiago Sierra (Mexico), Sislej Xhafa (Kosovo).
