It only comes in black and white now, but they’ll make it soon in color…I felt so old and out of it with this young whiz guy right there who helped invent it.”

Synthia is an anthropomorphic virtual agent that reflects its attitudes and behavior with the trend of the stock market. It is a work of Lynn Hershman that goes back to one of the slogans of the artist that 'information as art, art as information'. In detail, the blonde star if the market is flat goes to sleep, if it was up to dance, whether it is soaring does somersaults, while if it is in sharp decline becomes depressed. From time to time, check your email and alternates giggles fists on the table in despair. Synthia tries to impersonate the market by translating the relationship that exists between the market itself with its kinetic movements and the people behind it. You can also see it live through a special server that requires OpenGL to interact with the user. Albeit in a partial humanization of fluctuations in equity this subject seems more synthetic stage the schizophrenic contradictions of capital movements and their absurd social power. The mood swings of Synthia is an ominous sign of the mutation of the human social condition increasingly linked to the outcomes of the international stock exchanges.
