Dot-store is the latest creation of web art by Jon Thomson and Alison Craighead, two British artists ready to capture the spirit of the times within the transformations induced by new media. Trying to historicize so pop (ular) running gadgets of start-ups in the second half of the nineties, the two have set up a plausible shop e-commerce where products are sold wacky theme, such as placemats with the results of Goggle search with keywords such as 'Is anybody there?', 'Please help me', 'Can you hear me?' and 'Please listen to me', as well as amateur tattoos of eleven different symbols of the tremendous symbol 'under construction', brooches with animated cursors, a walkman that reads spam particularly famous, a video game type 'break out' where you have to avoid logos old versions of Netscape and a CD to teach the birds cell phone ringtones.
