13:11:02 Peercast, the p2p network of webcasters.
Opened in April 2002, PeerCast is a non-profit site that provides software for broadcasting peer-to-peer networks. Along with The Frequency Clock and some other programs aims aims to enable the user to make their own broadcasting on the network through an optimized client. A particular advantage of PeerCast is to relieve the supply of bandwidth, as early as their 56k modems you can do in broadcast network without any problems. The structure of the network is decentralized and therefore very robust, based on Gnutella 0.6 while not connected in any way to this other network, and to authorize each user to choose whether to be a client, a server, a broadcaster or a stream. It is also guaranteed anonymity of the source of transmission, but the strength that allows many stations to transmit through this software is that there is no data stored on a hard disk anywhere, in quente sound data is exchanged in the same time real through the members of the network. Clients are now available for Win and Linux with the version for MacOsX coming.
