21:09:02 02 Media-Space, the new digital scene.
It was inaugurated on September 19 at the Filmhaus Stuttgart (Germany) the 2002 edition of Media-Space , focusing on the transformation of private spaces in stages. The questions raised by the curators are: How scenes are altered by the new media? What new conditions of production and work processes are created and with what results? Between presentations, performances and workshops are raised philosophical questions about the end of the linear narrative and vanish on the boundaries between genres such as installation and performance. Considerable space is devoted to the development of independent software, for which it has been involved in the Steim Foundation in Amsterdam formed by Frank Baldé and Daniel Schorno, with their programs for mac: 'Lisa', 'Big Eye' and 'Imagine'. Even Manuel Poletti IRCAM (Institute de Recherche et de Coordination Acoustique / Musique) will hold a seminar on the possibilities of the software Max / MSP, as well as Jeremy Bernstein and Randall Jones will present their tool, much talked about at the time: Jitter. Provided also a conference room on the kinematics of the films of Orson Wells, a seminar on the ability to integrate other media in the ballet and opera, while Christian Ziegler ZKM in Karlsruhe will present 'scanned IV' media environment for dance and movement . Finally, the prof. Gerd de Bruyn and Henrik Mauler of Modern Architektur Institut Grundlagen will hold a seminar on the characterization of artificial environments and how every object, whether organic or inorganic, appears influenced by information technologies, as evidenced by their project entitled 'intelligent textiles: nomadic strategies'.
