25.09.02 Hitclips, new micromedia music.
Among the music industry in search of new formats and the huge impenetrable free exchange of sound data on the network arises this new minimal media created by Tiger Electronics (formerly creator of the Furby) and called Hitclip . These coupons with tiny chip (a kind of smart media) able to rake in a minute of music and sold at a price of $ 4. Even the players are equally tiny and with the odd feature of fixed volume, but for the company's commercial background, very playful and 'plasticky', partly because mainly directed at a teenage audience. The latter figure is clear from the titles on the market in the U.S. (in Europe the Hitclip are already distributed, but in the embryo). All pop-hits at the top of the charts for tenager, in fact, have been made available in this limited format, generating a trend difficult to scratch, an induced collectors no longer debellabile, and another medium with which to compare.
