Held on the 20th April to ' Austrian Cultural Forum in New York (USA), the first event of the festival Transforming Modernity, which aims to illustrate the principles and priorities for the future of international art, namely collaboration, interdisciplinary experimentation, fluidity and consciousness direct challenge to the acquired concepts, exploring the possibilities of new ways to communicate. The materials come from the first installation of Granular Synthesis (Kurt Hentschläger and Ulf Langheinrich), also present at the Venice Biennale last year, they have here created an immersive environment to experience the body's relationship with sound and space and an important convention. The latter, entitled 'Mediations: Archaeologies and Transformations in the Electronic Sphere' is edited by Timothy Druckrey and requires the presence of Siegfried Zielinski, rector of the Kunsthochschule für Medien in Cologne (Germany), Yukiko Shikata, Japanese independent curator, Reinhard Braun, media theorist of Graz (Austria), Peter Rantasas director of the Music Information Center Austria Vienna (Austria), the Knowbotic Research (Yvonne Wilhelm, Christian Hübler, Alexander Tuchacek), a group of Cologne / Zurich, Perry Hoberman, an artist who works on multi-user interactive installations, Granular Synthesis, the Italian net artists 0100101110101101.org and Zoe Beloff, an artist struggling with cd-rom, experimental film and performance.
