Net_ / Working is one of the last works of Glorious Ninth, the pseudonym of the English Patrick Simons and Kate Southworth, which explores elements of inclusion and exclusion implicit in the concept of networking and structures of explanation inherent in the categories used. If one of the roles of the contemporary artist is to edit the work of others without imposing values of quality, the definition of the categories and their interrelationships become a central topic. The work questions the contemporary notion of 'networking' suggesting that without a political or social context, the meanings of 'collaborative', 'cooperative', 'enriched' and 'human' are meaningless, so in the absence of significant changes prarica of the social networking is possible only for an elite group, which in turn will connect with other elites that reflect our values and opinions. There are three parts of the work of net art duo: 'version 1' which suggests a vision of the concept as another form of reduction of the human potential for interactions controlled and directed. In 'version 2' we explore the idea of networking as a metaphor for the hidden meanings in a seemingly neutral list of concepts, while in 'version 3' is the life out of the network.
