It only comes in black and white now, but they’ll make it soon in color…I felt so old and out of it with this young whiz guy right there who helped invent it.”

– The new work of net.art of New York John Klima is called Shrinking Afghanistan (pictured) and consists of the three-dimensional reproduction (through a java applet) of the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan, making the data of deaths and billions of dollars spent for the Western arsenal through a structure of classic strategy game. This performance underlines the news blackout that emits USA perloppiù data, here interpreted through icons, updated daily, which make evident the screech between sign and symbol. The intent of Klima is also to verify our beliefs about what is real and what is virtual, and the size of tragic 'game' assumes that the conflict in the collective perception, already widely credited to the struggle for life or death diplomats, politicians and historians. The question that then s'instilla rooting is: are we witnessing a game that simulates a war or a war that simulates a game?
– The international group of performers in Sisters Indeed Digital Network (which is part of the Italian Domiziana Jordan) has produced a new product of net.art in flash, called ' Waiting ', a charming poem recited by electronic synthetic voices. Considering the language as part of the revolutionary work tries to interact with a different type of conflict, hidden in the folds of the saying that "belongs to life as more and more apparent conflicts."
