I said that once some man had been calling me a lot wanting to give me one, but that I’d never called him back or something, and then the kid looked up and said, ‘Yeah, that was me. I’m Steve Jobs.’ And he looked so young, like a college guy. And he told me that he would still send me one now. And then he gave me a lesson on drawing with it. It only comes in black and white now, but they’ll make it soon in color…I felt so old and out of it with this young whiz guy right there who helped invent it.”

The size of the machine and the anthropomorphic looking for a instinctive communication, beyond the interfaces and metaphors, is one of the ideal conditions to which every artist aspires communication. That's why a work such as inter-Face by Yariv Alter Fin draws from the first moment, giving a human face to what appears in a window on the screen. Coded in two alternatives (man / woman) represents the artist himself in the male version and a certain Dominique in the female. The few basic elements (eyes, nose and mouth) make the white of the web page, a number of different expressions, tender, ironic and jeers, reminiscent of the irresistible impulse to make faces in the mirror. Poised between communication and identification, the work expresses the dual role of the screen, which is to mirror and window, respectively, in which we identify in a representation or try to interact with a fellow. The primordial instinct is used as the protocol, capable of facing the recognition of a face, to activate mechanisms are difficult to control rationally, as evidenced by the multiple clicks made on the momentum of reactive parts of the two faces irresistible.
