Inaugurated on October 11 at the Kunsthalle in Vienna an exhibition dedicated to the Austrian experimental filmmaker Martin Arnold , with his latest work. Among these stands out for insight and realization 'Deanimated: The Invisible Ghost', an elaboration of 'The Invisible Ghost' horror film of 1941, with major players such as Bela Lugosi, Polly Ann Young and John McGuire. The operation consisted in eliminating Arnold digitally actors in a phased manner, losing coherence to the narrative of fact and drawing a new aesthetic perspective of the whole affair. With the passing of the minutes pass slowly erratic movements of the camera, which seems to move without a clear focus for indoor environments, capturing the mysterious changes in light and shadow. In this way the director poses fundamental philosophical questions about human existence and its presence / absence. The actors, in fact, absent live as in the traces they leave in our perception, 'experiencing' of their own absence that pervades irrimendiabilmente the environment that hosts them.
