22/07/02 New face of RIAA: we have to check the radio.
The major coalition in the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) fell on a war footing even against radio online, convinced that much of the piracy also relies on these standards. An industrial class in delirium, and apparently increasingly drowned by its own resistance to change, would like to develop a 'performance audio flag', a security technology similar to the 'broadcast flag' designed for digital television. The mechanism should lock the devices to transmit the sound stream in the network. All in a madness of persecution mania, since these protections only work on digital media, and therefore any re / analog recording would just cancel the effect. Mitch Glazier, senior vice president of the RIAA, believes in the involvement of the industries that should modify their devices to make them compatible with these protection technologies.
