Interfacing Knowledge: New Paradigms for Computing in the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences is the conference that as of today (08/03) for the whole weekend will be held at the University of California at Santa Barbara, organized by 'The Digital Cultures Project'. Three prominent figures invited to meet the public are Peter Lunenfeld (author of 'Snap to the grid' on the transformation of creative processes through information technology), Katherine Hayles, author of 'How We Became Posthuman', and Lev Manovich, who wrote the essay 'The Language of the New Media', a massive compendium of theories and reflections on the revolution that new media are bringing to communication and the arts.
