Infotopia_the infogolem is a presentation of four projects of electronic art, which takes place tonight (3.22) V2 at the center of Rotterdam (Netherlands). Starting from the assumption that the electronic media define at all levels of our everyday reality, the choice fell on &aegrave; 'works' with a strong utopian component, that enable users to explore their environment and change the information. For example, the German artist Aram Bartholl in web work 'Daten am Ort' experiences with communicative properties of mobile communications associated with public places, such as for skaters to navigate the information associated with specific routes. Dirk van Oosterbosch, however, always in the context of mobile communication presents 'Friend', a system of software agents that retrieve the desired information and retransmit the user through acoustic headphone while Jaanis Garancs with his 'Big Browser Brotherhood' designs a futuristic, how invasive cell phone that monitors behaviors and internal processes of the body, the user can resell as important social and political data. Konrad Becker, finally, director of the Viennese Public Netbase, describes his 'World-Information.Org' (pictured) â ie the complaint of deliberate misinformation through an audio-visual system of facts, quotes and events that demonstrate how the media mislead us daily.
