Tonight at Whose Café in Los Angeles (USA) held Rhizome LA , an event organized by the famous American portal art on the net in an attempt to pull together the community of media artists in Southern California. On this occasion, exhibit their works of local artists especially recognized by the international community. Among them: 'About Face' Steve Appleton (pictured), an interactive installation where the faces of the beholder are captured by means of surveillance and biometrics and then mapped to form other faces; 'Bloom' by Joyce Campbell is an attempt to analyze the terrain of Los Angeles from the inside, in which the artist has collected samples of soil and water, isolating and culturing them ii microbiological elements, subsequently rendered as a series of pictures in ILFOCHROME; 'Electric Sheep' by Scott Draves (see Life 4.0 ); 'This Strange Eventful History' by Mark Pesce, a film on the last Burning Man festival, made ​​of amazing images using a combination of digital photography and video, with a soundtrack of Todd Barton, who using the human genome as the basis for his compositions and 'Glambient' Nick Thompson, a program (soon available under the GPL), which explores the creation of families of geometric patterns in continuous transformation.
