Minoru Sato + Asuna – Texture In Glass Tubes And Reed Organ

Minoru Sato, Asuna

CD – Spekk
Simple as simple but brilliant ideas can be, this record can tune your mind accordingly with simplicity and absolutely no need to attract your attention first. Two tracks recorded in studio, are composed resonating a reed organ notes on self constructed glass tubes with a specific division of time and layering. The intrinsic physics of resonance produces an uninterrupted dialogue between the two instruments that seems to perfectly reproduce the interaction between the two artists during the composing process, resulting in a seamlessly sound flux. The harmonic overlaying produces ethereal drones, but it’s not “ambience” in a classical sense, more contemporary “scientific” minimalism. The composing process is graphically explained on the back cover with the same simplicity, unveiling the ground rules on which a painstaking care of extremely subtle changes has been taken.
