30.04.02 Bugnosis, software to find out which data from your computer.
Bugnosis is a new tool for privacy was presented at the Conference of Computers, Freedom, and Privacy (see Computers Freedom and Privacy 2002. ). It consists of an application for Internet Explorer on Windows, which detects the so-called 'web bugs', ie those small image file you downloaded during the download page send data to the computer, and sometimes even to the user who created them, the that, most of the times, it means advertising agencies. When it detects that one Bugnosis alerts the user with a sound alert and shows you where the bug on the screen, showing also its url, and it opens up a window that shows the information that the same bug is acquiring.
